Meet the Visionaries Behind GSC On-Site Services

Gilbert Smith, Chairman of the Board

With over four decades of experience in rehabilitation case management, vocational rehabilitation, job analysis, and ADA compliance, Gilbert Smith has long been a pioneer in workforce health and risk reduction. His deep understanding of both employee capabilities and workplace demands laid the groundwork for GSC’s unique approach to operational efficiency and long-term injury prevention.

Gilbert’s insights have shaped how companies think about return-to-work programs, physical demand documentation, and defensible hiring practices. His passion for compliance and innovation ensures that GSC's solutions don’t just work—they withstand scrutiny, add value, and improve outcomes across industries.

Kris Smith, CEO

An industrial Occupational Therapist with a strong background in ergonomics and workplace wellness, Kris Smith brings hands-on clinical expertise and a deep operational understanding to the field of injury prevention. She is passionate about building real-world solutions that make jobs safer, easier, and more sustainable—especially as workforce demands increase and workers age.

Kris is the architect of many of GSC’s field-tested programs, including structured return-to-work plans, early symptom intervention protocols, and flexibility training that reduces long-term strain. She continues to drive innovation and elevate the standard of care across GSC’s nationwide operations.

Together, a Legacy of Innovation

Gilbert and Kris co-developed the GSC Worker Job Matching System—a proven, data-driven model that reduces workers’ comp, short- and long-term disability, and the operational friction caused by workforce misalignment.

Their vision?

A future where prevention is prioritized, where employees stay healthy and productive longer, and where safety, HR, Operations, and Finance work together—not in silos—to build stronger teams. Their leadership continues to guide GSC’s vision: Changing the way U.S. companies think about injury prevention—and delivering results that last.
